Rita Ora was one of the celebrity guests who attended the 2023 DVF Awards on Thursday in Venice, Italy. The singer went classic in an all-black look, wearing a long-sleeve dress with a sheer neckline, a pair of Alaïa silver-studded ballet flats and carrying a crystal-embellished Giuseppe Zanotti clutch.
To create her look, Ora worked with Pippa Atkinson, her longtime stylist. The singer is the latest star to embrace the sheer trend, which has been a style signature on red carpets and other high-profile events. One of the most standout iterations of the style was Ciara’s outfit to the Vanity Fair Oscar Party in March, where she wore a sheer dress by Dundas.
Ora attended the ceremony, which shined a light on women in the industry, to present Lilly Singh with the DVF Leadership Award. Singh is an influencer and actress, who starred in the Disney+ series “The Muppets Mayhem.”
“With her Unicorn Island Productions, Lilly at heart is a storyteller,” Ora said at the event, later adding “and with her stories she continues to break boundaries, spotlighting underrepresented voices and challenging social norms to transform the way the world sees, values and invests in girls and women.”
The DVF Awards were conceptualized by Diane von Furstenberg and The Diller-von Furstenberg Family Foundation in 2010. The annual event shines a light on women trailblazers who lead and help other women. This year’s event, held during the 2023 Venice Film Festival, honored Lilly Singh along with Dr. Joy Buolamwini, Amina J. Mohammed, Helena Gualinga and Amal Clooney.
